Cambodian luge athletes leave for South Korea to train and compete to show their abilities

Two Cambodian luge athletes, led by Secretary-General Mr. Mak Chandara, traveled to the Republic of Korea on Saturday night, November 15, 2025, for two weeks of training and competition, sponsored by the host country.

There are two athletes such as male athlete An Vathanak and female athlete Hul Deborah, and this is their second time for participating in the training session in South Korea after spending two weeks in November 2024.

 

Mr. Mak Chandara, Secretary-General of Cambodia Luge Sport, said that the first week of participation is to continue technical training over long distances, and the next week will be a competition to showcase their skills. He said that this is an important experience for the team to improve and share to other athletes.

Mr. Mak Chandara also revealed that the Cambodia Luge Federation will soon be formed and will make it easier for Cambodian athletes to participate in competitions, especially in preparation for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

 

For Athletes An Vattanak and Hul Deborah claim that, this is a good opportunity to train in the Republic of Korea, where they can learn new lessons and techniques to further strengthen their abilities.
