Prince Sheik
Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani has been elected as the new President of the Olympic
Council of Asia (OCA), replacing Mr. Randhir Singh.
According to
H.E Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of
Cambodia said that, the selection of the new President was made at the 66th
General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia, which was held in Tashkent,
Uzbekistan.

Chamroeun has also confirmed that, out of discussing about plans and various
work, this General Assembly will also focus on completing the old mandate and choosing
the new President to replace Mr. Randhir Singh, who is getting old and has
health problems.

Because of
has no other candidates, Prince Sheik Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani received
unanimous support from all 45 OCA member countries.
On behalf of
the new President, Prince has expressed his commitment to unify and also to
make the Olympic Movement of Asia to be more active, as well as to promote
transparency, accountability and good governance in its management.
Please
remind that, Mr. Randhir Singh aged 79-year-old is Indian took office as
President of the Olympic Council of Asia in September 2021.
