Grandmother Chheng Lang Heang, 83 years old said that, she was really happy that her grandchildren have started practicing karate because it could help them stay healthy and learn martial arts to defend themselves.
Including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the grandmother, who lives in the Santormok High School area, said that there are more than 10 grandchildren who have trained in this sport and they participated in the 2025 National Karate Championship held at the Royal University of Phnom Penh. The grandmother said that, she always goes to encourage them every time when has the competition.

Grandmother Chheng Lang Heang said that, the love for karate from her grandchildren is because of her younger brothers and sisters have all been practicing this martial art since they were children. However, but for grandmother, she did not practice like her younger brothers and sisters because she had to help her family with the business.

The grandmother revealed that, her younger brothers and sisters include: Mr. Lach Chansovan, Mr. Lach Chanrithy, Mr. Lach Chandara, and several others, all of whom are former national karate athletes and currently are coaches as well as leaders in the federation.
